Underwater Exploration

To observe and investigate life underwater individuals embark on deep-sea explorations. When exploring water sources, it important that you do so safely. This requires that you utilize lights and SCUBA gear which includes a wet suit for warmth as the temperatures underwater are very cold, goggles and respirator breathing system that delivers oxygen form a tank to your body. When your mission underwater is complete it is imperative that you ascend to the surface slowly otherwise you will experience decompression sickness aka "the bends". Decompression sickness is the formation of nitrogen bubbles within the tissues of the body. This sickness can cause muscle & joint pain, cramps, numbness and even paralysis; all of which require medical intervention. This is why divers pace themselves when ascending to the surface so that their bodies adjust to pressure changes.
