Winter Storm Preparedness
As a Gen-Xer I have had the privilege to observe how winter has changed. I can remember there being so much snow during winter months that there was nowhere to plow and place it! I remember my last winter in the Midwest at the beginning of the Millennium in which the lake effect snow covered all the streets resulting in your car tires slipping which required you to navigate your steering wheel in the opposite direction to get your car to move in the direction that you wanted it to go. Back then it was important to have a filled pantry prior to winter, Vitamin C for immune support, essential oils for your face and skin as the air is dryer, a closet filled with layers of warm clothes, water-proof winter boots were a must, lighters were necessary to de-ice the locks to for your car by heating the key and salting the sidewalks were necessary in order for you to have your mail delivered. With my relocating to the South, I thought that I had put the snowstorms behind me, however I had to endure the infamous ice and snowstorms of Atlanta. And then there were the Winter Storm's in North Carolina that left me speechless, and I am still trying to figure out how did that happen?!
