Cruise Ship
The first ever cruise ship for passengers to board and sail to different ports-of-call was invented in 1900. Currently there are 323 cruise ships that are available for traveling and cruising can occur on a river, a sea or on an ocean. In my previous cruising days I had to determine the best time to book a cruise which would typically occur during the first few months of the year as prices were less expensive. Whereas the best time to travel on a cruise was the during the spring and summer months to experience the tropical climate. Have you ever wondered how can a vessel that large not sink to the bottom of a body of water?
Buoyancy is the force that a body of water applies to an object so that the object is able to float. For buoyancy to occur the upward force of the body of water must be greater than the downward force of the cruise ship. With the cruise ship begin able to float, it possesses the ability to transport 150 guest on smaller bodies of water and 3000-5000 people on larger bodies of water. The average size of a cruise ship is about 1000 feet long, 210 feet wide containing 15-20 stories that have areas for sleeping, entertainment, dining and leisure activities. The average speed of a cruise ship is 20-24 knots which is equivalent to 23-27mph so that you can enjoy floating on water towards your desired destination.
