Loopers

When working in any type of yard loopers are a necessary tool that you will need. Loopers are a garden tool that will physically appear like a pair of large scissors, they are used to prune branches or manually remove small trees. Loopers have two long steel handles that can extend up to thirty-seven and a half inches with two sharp blades that cut more accurately than saws. Loopers are categorized according to their blades which are either an anvil or bypass blade. Anvil loopers have a groove that the blades press into when cutting, whereas bypass loopers have sharp blades like scissors for making clean cuts. Looper blades are composed of either stainless steel, carbon steel or carbon steel with a titanium coating. The cutting action of loopers can either be manual, ratcheting or compound action looper cuts. Manual loopers open and close to cut narrow branches, however ratcheting loopers can be re-opened to enable a wider and stronger grip to increase cutting pressure, whereas compound action loopers have more than one pivoting arm so that thicker branches can be cut. I personally utilized the Fiskars Bypass Looper to cut baby pines when residing in the country of Georgia to enable more sunlight to enter my then yard.
