Photosynthesis & Chemosynthesis
Plants, grass and trees are living things containing eukaryotic cells that are similar to human cells. Plants require the photosynthetic process for them to live. Photosynthesis is a process in which plants use sunlight energy to produce glucose for plant energy and oxygen to be released into the atmosphere. However, plant life under water must thrive in the absence of sunlight; this can be achieved by way of chemosynthesis. Chemosynthesis is an alternative energy producing process in which organic compounds are created without sunlight. It is chemosynthesis that contributes to the balance needed in aquatic habitats for our aquatic food chain.
